Sarah Wells

Hi!
A short blurb about me - I'm a freelance Producer and Picture Editor, based in West Sussex.

I started out as a Picture Researcher in my 2nd year at uni, back in 2002. Over the years, I've gained experience in customer and consumer publishing, book publishing, educational publishing, advertising, charities & NGOs, picture libraries, and TV - working in both print and digital, before moving more heavily into video content creation.
My experience and knowledge placed me as Production Manager leading creative teams and guiding the media content for global brands; from establishing workflows and process, policies and quality assurance, to concept and ideation, and execution and delivery. Whether it's developing KPIs and RFPs, leading strategy and developing teams and crew, guiding the creative treatments and fine tuning output, or day to day project management skills, I love creating content.
I understand the different needs of markets, from usage to style, and having a varied background demonstrates how adaptable I can be. From sourcing high end, stylised or UGC photography for a high street financial banking group to a functional, cost effective option for an educational publisher, I pride myself on understanding client briefs and delivering.
With more than 10 years experience working with the educational sector, I devised a policy for working with child performers for a leading ELT publisher, and led their team on safeguarding children on set. I went on to become a licensed chaperone and have worked with the BBC, ITV and Channel 4 supporting young performers.
Anyway, I said blurb about me - I am a keen photographer, as I mentioned, photography came first for me. I like the vibrancy of Mario Testino and David Lachapelle, and the more muted tones of Jason Shulman. I am a qualified yoga teacher and usually start every morning with a juicy yoga flow to wake me up. I'm a big fan of David Shrigley and Dali, and am kind of addicted to Fake or Fortune (BBC). I like to cycle and spin, swim and run. If I'm not exercising or working then I'll probably be binging Netflix.
And that's me.

If you have a project with media assets that you need support with, then please get in touch for a no obligation chat - I work with day rates, hourly rates or a flat project rate - and because every project is different, I'm happy to talk about what you need and then discuss a fee structure that works for you.
